WEB GEMS- Bot 8th: Craig Counsell robbed Torii Hunter of a base hit.
Torii Hunter lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 4 RBI as the Dominican
Republicans topped the Columbus Crowd in 11 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at
the ballpark.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Dominican was
victorious in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Javier Valentin
laced a single. Hunter stepped into the batter's box and he doubled making
Dominican the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Dominican
rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Glendon Rusch(2-2) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Tim Redding(1-4) suffered the loss in relief.
